Our team can manufacture componentry from a drawing or an existing part. The engineer must adapt and have the ability to formulate a solution for the particular order. Duralloy Gears has the skills and equipment to craft one-off components using high quality manual orientated machinery. For optimum gear performance the company chooses high quality material and employs the best available production process.

"Our bread and butter is cutting gears," says manager Hayden Neale. "When a client presents you with a broken gear tooth for appraisal, our experienced team will analyse and discuss a viable option. We can manufacture new componentry, including sourcing and supplying bearings, seals, and new gearboxes at very competitive prices".

Overseeing operations at Duralloy Gears is Phil Jones, son of the company's founder, Mr John Jones (Senior). Mr Jones (Senior) manually started making pinions for railway road service buses in the second world war, that serviced Christchurch to Dunedin. While stepping back from day-to-day management Phil continues to provide the Duralloy team with the benefit of his knowledge, particularly when it comes to gearing for old tractors, trucks, vintage cars and one off challenges.

Our qualified staff includes fitters, turners, welders, tool and dye makers. Duralloy Gears supports and services a broad spectrum of diverse clients including fisheries, ski-fields, food processing, American Aviation and general engineering operations. Achieving world class gear quality is the direct result of Duralloy's investment in its employees, machinery and management systems. Duralloy Gears has built its reputation on innovative problem solving. The company continues to be a leading Australasian gear specialist.
